Homemade Caramel really makes this cheesecake extra special!
A fresh summer salad but for winter. Comfort food at its best.
Make the "Crisp". Combine the butter, flour, sugars, oats and a little salt in a bowl. Work this mixture together with you hands until the butter is in small pea sized pieces and coated in flour and sugar. Place the mixture in the fridge till needed.
Make the crust and batter. Prepare and bake the crust. Make sure to work it 2/3'rds of the way up the side of the pan. Bake it to set it, then fill with the cheesecake batter.
To add the apple and the crisp, top the cheesecake batter with diced apple and the crisp topping that you made and placed in the fridge.
After the cheesecake has fully cooled, top with caramel sauce and fresh apple slices.
This recipe makes for an uber decadent slice of cheesecake that pairs well right next to a hot cup of coffee or tea!
