I call this Homemade Ranch Chex Mix my "Kendell's Chex Mix" because my friend Kristi originally taught me to make this. I have tweaked it to be my own and made a couple of changes to create Kendell's Version!
📖 Recipe
Kendell's Chex Mix
My friend Kristi taught me to make Chex Mix and then I customized it to make it my own! This is that recipe!
Ingredients
- 2 sticks Butter
- 4 tablespoons Rosé Vinegar
- 5 tablespoons Ranch Seasoning Powder
- 5 cups Corn Chex
- 4 cups Rice Chex
- 5 cups Wheat Chex
- 2 ½ cups Cocktail Peanuts
- 2 cups Cashews
- 4 cups Pretzels
- 3 cups Sesame Sticks
- 2 cups Bagel Chips
- 2 cups Rye Chips
- 4 cups Cheez-its
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250˚F.
- Melt the butter and whisk in the vinegar and ranch seasoning.
- Mix everything in a large bowl, and add the butter mixture in 3 parts, tossing well after each addition.
- Spread the mixture on parchment-lined baking sheets and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely on the counter before storing in air-tight containers or tins.
- Will keep for up to a month, if it lasts that long.
Notes
I prefer to use this vinegar over traditional Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor and a little zing!
Kristi's recipe calls for Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and onion powder. I replace those with the Rosè vinegar and ranch seasoning.
You can take, leave, or add more additions like the nuts, sesame sticks, rye, or bagel chips, etc...
You also need a REALLY big bowl to mix it in, I linked one below for you that you can make the mix in and then store it in it too.

I hope you keep making delectable recipes. You definitely would have been among the select few “gifted and talented” students during my school years. I don’t even know how I happened to come across your website, but your recipes/blog stand out among the other bakers/chefs out there. I hope during your Hygge hunt that you also discover your “why.” To some of us admirers of your work, we can clearly see it: to inspire, share your “sweet” talents with others, and to show what walking down the “less traveled” path while remaining true to your self can bring to a person. Much success to you, Sir; your family, friends, and faithful “furball” are lucky to have you in their lives.
