This recipe for Beck's Crackers that Joanna Gaines shares in her Magnolia Table Cookbook Vol. 1 is going to become your new favorite way to snack. I have to be honest with you, I was a little, maybe a lot, skeptical of this recipe when I first read it. I honestly thought that I was going to end up with a bucket of soggy crackers, and that just didn't seem appetizing to me.
The review...
This recipe is super easy and takes just a few minutes to put together. You whip up the seasonings and a few dressing packets in some oil and pour it over the crackers. It really is that easy.
I don't have much else to say about them than that.
The reaction...
The good news is they turned out far better than I had expected. I am happy to report that they did not come out soggy at all and they kept for a really long time. I had originally planned to make these as a side to the Baked Brie that comes later in the book but they were so good that they didn't make it to that day.
The TIPS...
Just be sure to use a BIG container, or split the recipe into two containers. I like to have some room to move them about without them flying out of the bowl. Or to swirl the container around and get all the crackers nicely coated evenly.
I will note that they hold up for a while, the last few that were left got put in a bag and forgotten for a while, and even when I found them about a week later they were still in great shape and STILL not soggy!
Overall, these are a really great accompaniment to any charcuterie tray or dip spread. I was pleasantly surprised and I think I will be making these over and over again come summertime.
Until next time, happy cooking!
